“English language learners” means a student whose first language is not English and who is unable to read, write, speak, or understand English at a level comparable to Canadian school grade-level English.
CWS offers ESL credit courses to accommodate the needs of non-English speaking students. To know the level of each individual student, CWS conducts an assessment to evaluate the level of the student for the purpose of placing them in the appropriate level of English course. CWS offers ESL supporting services by providing learning materials, texts, videos, and tutorials.
